Not so fond of the raindrops tonight.

You guys have gotten a boatload of rain the past few days. The Austin news showed the Sabine River and the area around the reservoir. Yikes.

The Sabine is way west of me. We’ve had 4 to 5 inches of rain since yesterday. We are on high ground, but one of the local creeks crosses both of the main roads leading out of here. On one road, the flooding is all backwater, so it isn’t flowing and is relatively safe to cross as long as your car isn’t too low. At the other crossing the creek has accumulated a lot more water and is flowing swiftly. That is the one to avoid.
My wife has a procedure scheduled for the morning. It’s one of those that requires 24 hours of prep which are very unpleasant. She’s determined that she WILL go through with this, come hell or high water, so it looks like we’ll be braving the roads.

Good luck. Turn around, don’t drown.

Thanks!

Made it out! The worst area had maybe 6" of water. Funny part? An Escalade and a Blazer ahead of me chickened out then held up tragic as they did 50-point turnarounds on our narrow road.

It’s like the H3s that go 1.5 mph over the speed bumps at Home Depot. Drives me crazy.

There’s raindrop/teardrop streamlining, and then there’s being ridiculous.

Right there with you. I just noticed that traffic became tragic in my last reply. I suppose there isn't much difference.
